La canción es la primera del LP de 1973 llamado Houses of the Holy.
El inicio de Houses Of The Holy es para algunos el mejor de cualquier álbum de Led Zeppelin. La primera canción, The Song Remains The Same, fue concebida como una introducción instrumental, y de hecho uno de sus títulos de trabajo fue "The Overture" (otros fueron "The Campaign", o "Zep"). Tiene unos arreglos de guitarras que nos remontan a un tema de los Yardbirds, "Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor".

Volviendo a "The Song Remains the Same", el solo tiene algunos trozos de inspiración india y la letra es un homenaje a la música del mundo, y un recuerdo de los viajes y experiencias del grupo a lo largo de sus giras. La canción tuvo bastante éxito y esto animó a la banda para titular del mismo modo su única película .
La película se llamó "The Song Remains The Same", y contenía el concierto en el Madison Square Garden de Nueva York en 1973, considerado por algunos como uno de los mejores conciertos de Led Zeppelin. Por supuesto, el album que recuerdan del mismo nombre no es otra cosa que la banda sonora de la película.

Como veis, la película, entremezcla imágenes extrañas o psicodélicas con imágenes de la actuación del concierto. Una buena recomendación para transportaros a otros lugares por un rato.

De compras hippies

He encontrado una tienda en Madrid donde venden artículos de diseño, entre los cuales se encuentra éste de una VOLKSWAGEN T2. La tienda se llama "Callatelaboca" y podeis encontrar camisetas, sudaderas, carpetas, cuadernos, llaveros, tazas, cuadros... con este diseño.

También me gustaría aprovechar este post para contaros dónde encontré un auténtico abrigo hippie del año 74 como éste. Me costó 160 € y lo encontré en la tienda de ropa de segunda mano "The The" situada en la C/ Velarde nº1 en Madrid.

Y como curiosidad, he buscado en internet precios de furgonetas y coches de aquellos maravillosos años...

Una Volkswagen T2 Modelo BULLI del año 1973 matriculada como "histórica" puede costaros unos 11.000 euros.

Una Volkswagen T2 Modelo BERLIN WESTFALIA del año 1973 puede costaros unos 7500 euros. Otros anuncios dicen 5000 euros.

Cambiando de las furgos a los coches encontramos:

Un escarabajo azul VOLKSWAGEN modelo 1302, del año 1971 que cuesta 8000 euros.

Y un escarabajo verde VOLKSWAGEN modelo 1303, del año 1973 que cuesta 2100 euros.

Del amarillo solo sé que un día estaba aparcado en la puerta de mi casa y le saqué una foto porque era precioso. Ojalá hubiese sido el mío jajaj :D

Led Zeppelin fue un grupo inglés de Hard rock, considerado uno de los más importantes de ese género y uno de los más populares durante la década de los setenta. Fue fundado en 1968 por el guitarrista Jimmy Page, quien había pertenecido a The Yardbirds, al incluir en su formación a John Paul Jones como bajista y teclista (al que Page conocía de trabajos anteriores con The Yardbirds), al vocalista Robert Plant y a John Bonham a la batería (que coincidió con Plant en The Band of Joy).
Led Zeppelin presentó elementos de un amplio espectro de influencias, como el blues, rock and roll, el soul, la música celta, la música india, la árabe, el folk, el country e incluso el reggae.
